Understanding Men and How They Think
Time as well as experience may soon clear some nagging misconceptions about men and relationships, but in today's world, understanding men better and learning how to look out for the signs that he could be developing or losing interest are crucial. Being clueless is not exactly a bad thing. Notice that the synonyms for this word include being ingenuous, innocent, naýve and unsophisticated. However, letting go of your naýve outlook in life is important when it comes to figuring out how men work in relationships, and setting up defense mechanisms to prevent men or anyone from trampling your feelings while you stand aside and watch helplessly from the sidelines.
Here are some things that women must understand about men in general.
1. Most men are emotionally isolated from other people
Most men are told to be strong early on, and some grow up thinking that to be strong, one must control his tears. While small girls play house with other girls their age, boys are expected to play competitive games with other boys in their neighborhood. Childhood male conversation may revolve around bravado and bluster about their sports prowess.
It is rare for men, even as little boys, to discuss their feelings about sensitive issues like girls and family. They do not easily open up to prodding and would rather keep to themselves when sad or depressed. This instinct to keep his emotions private does not go away even when he reaches full adulthood. This incapacity to express his emotions may become a stumbling block to maintaining a long term relationship. It is the woman's patience with him that coaxes him out of his shell. A loving partner who he trusts completely could be the confidante he has been waiting for all his life.
2. Sex is easier for men to understand than love
The concept of giving and taking may be more tangible to some men when described using the act of sex. With sex, men can measure their compatibility with a woman, and this also involves his physical attraction, desire for the woman and eventual need for a long term relationship. There are a few men who understand exactly where the woman is coming from but this type of men is rare. Sex can be measured with a number range, while love and understanding contain intricacies that he may or may not be willing to comprehend. Teaching a man to think like a woman would about the emotional side their relationship is not impossible, but it can be difficult
